Obbe Trophy results and other news

The Association held its annual competition at the Obbe Fishery. As always for this popular outing, there was a good turnout with 16 anglers taking part. Good fishing was had by all and although no big trout were landed, one or two were hooked. The results were-

106 fish were caught.

103 brown trout.
1 sea trout.
The total weight of fish caught was 57lbs 12ozs.
The sea trout weighed 1lb 2oz.

The winner was Robbie Bell who caught 11 fish weighing 8lb 2oz.

Several anglers have fished Loch Achmore recently and report reasonable sport. With the weather now warming up (at last), the next few weeks should see some good sport for anglers targetting brown trout.
The committee hope to put the boats on Loch Langavat out on Saturday 15th May (weather permitting) and to carry out some maintenance at the same time. If anyone wishes to help, please contact the Secretary.
The Creed Fishery opens on 1 June, so now is the time to get your season ticket. If there is water, salmon will be running the river from opening day. The river level is now low enough to allow dam maintenance so anyone wishing to help with this, or any of the other work around the Creed, should contact either the Secretary or the river keeper.
