Memberships for the 2010 season can now be obtained from Sportsworld. Association membership entitles members to a discount on fishing tackle purchased from Sportsworld .

The association boats are now on the moorings on Lochs Achmore, Breugach, Na Craoibhe and Beag na Craoibhe.  The use of the boats is free to association members and  the boats are also available to non members at £10 per day. The boats may be booked in Sportworld. With the weather showing signs of warming up, these boats should see some good trout coming aboard in the next month.

Dates for the various association competitions and outings have now been set and anyone wishing to attend/enter any of the events can add their names to the lists in Sportsworld. Here are the dates and venues of the competitions-

Competitions- Dates for 2010

Obbe Trophy- Any method- to be fished on Saturday 24^th April, Loch Langavat, Leverburgh

Jamieson Cup- Evening fly competition to be fished on the evening of Tuesday 25^th May (venue to be confirmed)

Poachers Shield- Stornoway v NUAC v SUAC v Harris- First round Saturday 8^th May, North Uist. Return leg in Stornoway on 26^th June. If this competition is oversubscribed the club will draw lots.

Maciver Cup bait competition (Loch Langavat - Leverburgh)-  Junior Championship to be incorporated into Maciver Cup. To be fished on Saturday 21^st August. Venue to be confirmed.

Club Championship- Draw to be left in the hands of Calum Stewart and committee.

In addition to the competitions the association still have the following-

The Cresswell cup for the best trout caught on Langavat from the Boathouse or from competitions.

Mackinnon plate- Best Salmon on Langavat from the Boathouse or club competition.

Maclarty Shield- Best Salmon from North Harris on fly.

Lamont Bowl- Best trout on Lewis and Harris on fly.

It is hoped to have the boats on Loch Langavat available by mid May in order to give association members the chance to fish Loch Langavat when the brown trout fishing is at its best. There is some maintenance work required at the boatshed on Langavat, and anyone willing to offer assistance should contact the Secretary.
