Fishing Report

As usual, the fish seen running the Creed last week were not stopping in the lower river. I have noticed that in June/early July Creed salmon tend to run hard for the lochs. This year is no exception, and bank fishers reported seeing several salmon jumping in Loch Clachan on Friday and Saturday. The low catches can be explained by the fact that fishing effort was concentrated on the river.

Loch Clachan has now dropped to a very good fishing level and I would expect a fish or two to come of this week. The forecast East winds may put the fish off the take, but the fish are fresh so the loch will still be worth a try.

I have no reports of how the Langavat boats did last week but the high water levels at Grimersta should mean that there is a good head of fish in the loch.
