Fishing Update

With good water levels and an ongoing very good run of salmon the Creed continues to fish well.Catches of up to 12 salmon a day have been reported. Best fish so far this week were an 11lb sealiced salmon from Ois on spinner and a 12lb sealiced hen from Regis on worm for Donnie Sinclair. This made up for one of similar size he lost at the net when fly fishing shortly before. Donnie is to be commended for returning the fish. The catch and release message does not seem to have reached some of the membership which is not good news for the fishery in the long term. This can only lead to restrictions on method and rigidly enforced limits on the number of fish killed per angler per season. The angling association committee regard the long term good of the fishery as the top priority and are very dissapointed with those anglers that seem to be trying to fill their freezers. The Creed does not need these people. On a similar theme members of the public have been voicing their concern about the amount of litter being left by "anglers". The number of empty worm tubs left amongst the rubbish gives a strong clue as to who is responsible. The same group that kill everything they catch! Salmon have now been taken on Langavat and Fhir Mhaoil and with the main Grimersta run having now arrived I expect the association boats on these lochs to report good catches through August.
