More Rain, a few fish!

In keeping with the rest of the island fisheries we are still waiting for our first decent run of salmon. Very few salmon are been seen and despite a good number of anglers trying their luck, I have only heard of one near miss in the Bothy Pool when a salmon twice lunged at a fly. A few sea trout are getting taken by worm anglers but not in the numbers expected. I spoke with the river keeper last night who informed me of a few catches. Lochs Ois and Clachan both gave up a salmon and another was taken from the Junction Pool. There are also reports of reasonable sea trout catches but I have no details. This gives a total of 4 salmon for the season so far on the Creed which is just below average. I would expect the numbersof fish coming in of each tide to increase as the month goes on. With more rain forecast I am feeling much more hopeful of a good season ahead than I was a week ago.
