Brief Update

I have not been updating as regularly as I should, but work and other issues have kept me away from the site. The fishing this spring has been dominated by the weather. East winds, sometimes cold, and dry weather. Not the best for fishing and this has been reflected in catches which have been lower than usual. There has been no meaningful rainfall in June and as a result catches of migratlry fish are low. The first Creed salmon of the season was taken as the water dropped away from a big spate in late May. There were fish showing in all the lower pools but no one was fishing due to the weather. There were salmon running since the end of April , in ones and twos, so we were confident of a good start to the season. Alas, it was not to be. Contractors have taken advantage of the low flows to repair the Ois dam and install a fishpass. This work is nearing completion and should be finished by the time the grilse arrive in mid July.
