Update

Apologies for the lack of updates. A breakdown of the Creed catches appears on Fishebrides website. The catches appear low for 2006 but when the weather is taken in to consideration-we lost half the season due to low water-catches were reasonable. By waiting until now before reporting I can now say with confidence that it was not a lack of fish that caused the low catches! So far we have had a very good spawning season with all areas of gravel well used. We have managed to get some salmon for the hatchery but getting the allowed number of eggs is proving very difficult as salmon are hard to capture in the constantly high water. A contrast to the summer when we could not catch any due to the constant low water level! We intend to start work on the Ois and Clachan dams in the late winter/early spring, weather permitting. This will ensure the dams are fitted with proper fish passes and will be beneficial to the system long term. A further update should appear in late December with final redd counts and dates for the AGM and annual dinner.
