Fly Fishing A nine to eleven foot fly rod, with a line rating of AFTM 6 to 8 on an appropriate reel is a good all round combination to use when fishing Hebridean lochs and rivers for Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon. Floating lines are most commonly used, but when conditions dictate an intermediate line works very well. Spinning / Worming A six to ten foot rod light fly rod with an appropriate reel, loaded with 4-6lb line for Brown Trout and 6-10lb line for Salmon & Sea Trout. Recommended Flys When fishing for Brown Trout, Salmon and Sea Trout the following flies have found favour among local anglers. Patterns fished on size 8-12 hooks, on casts of two to three hooks.
